Each week I’ll share some insight regarding writing—the art and processes of writing—on My Podcast. Because writing is about life, you could say my podcast is about life. I want to talk about writing—my own, as well as other writers who have influenced me and why. I also hope to talk to other writers—published and otherwise. We’ll just see where we go…

The Weather

Some other subjects in addition to how I approach writing and some of my own hurdles and triumphs will absolutely include information about the weather. You may ask, why the weather? The short answer is: it’s what people do. People talk about the weather. If there’s nothing else to talk about, we talk about the weather. If there are things to talk about, well, somehow conversation often comes back to the weather. When I was young, my grandmother and I were penpals. A good portion of her letters was about the weather, so… maybe I got it from her.

No Go Zone

What I won’t address are politics or current events that may be considered controversial. Oh, I might allude to something in passing, even though I likely have plenty to say about everything, but… this show isn’t about any of that.

My current vision for My Podcast goes something like this…

• Have you ever wondered what makes a writer tick? How do they get their ideas, what their writing process is… what do they think about the world around them? Who influenced your favorite authors? Was it their style, storyline, character development, or story arcs?
• Are you a writer who looks for tips and insights from other writers? Are you stuck? Need some inspiration? Are you a reader who enjoys learning about an author? Are you a Shellam fan who wants to learn more about Shellam’s character development, or what’s coming next?
• Do you enjoy listening to authors read excerpts from their books? I just might read some from my own books, and try to convince my author friends to do the same.
