My New Podcast Series Is Finally Here!

Hurrah! My new podcast series is finally here! One of my goals for 2021 was to leave 2020 in the dust. I think, collectively, we’re all on the same side in that regard. Six weeks into the new year, my goal, second only to disappearing 2020, has been realized.

My first goal—after kicking 2020 into the dustbin—was to create a podcast series. If you will recall, several years ago I created a video series called The Write OWL. At first, it was difficult and painful, even, making episodes as I felt incredibly self-conscious; but as the series continued, it became much more fun. I thought long and hard about reconstituting it but decided no—after nearly 30 episodes, I wanted something fresh, new. Editing videos also ate up a lot of time. Time has become ever more precious to me as I actually have some semblance of a life where before, I didn’t.

I’ll address some other goals on my 2021 list at another time. For now, I’m just thrilled to announce my new podcast series is here. My first episode has been published. Whoohoo! My plan is to publish a new episode each week. Each episode will be between ten and perhaps thirty minutes, maybe even a bit longer when I feature other writers.

Initially, I imagined I’d start publishing episodes in January. Ha! I’m not sure why, but that was the quickest January I’ve ever experienced—ever. February, it appears, is trying to give January a serious run for her money. It truly astounds me how quickly time flies.

For my podcasts, I’m using the podcast host Spreaker. Only time will tell how well the service works for me. Please, let me know what you think.

I know the question you might be asking yourself, since I’ve asked myself the same question, is why a podcast? What’s the point? Right? Well, for me, I wanted a way to “talk” to people about writing. My writing, other people’s writing, processes, etcetera. I don’t want to give it all away here, because I really want you to listen to my podcasts, so… I’ll leave it at that.

Next on my 2021 list… finish my new book A Woman Like Eve. I’ve begun work on it and hope to complete it by mid to late summer. Of course, I’ll keep you posted!
